I just moved into AZ and am in the north side of the valley. I am looking for a 100y range to do load development and zeroing. I am wanting to shoot a match in a couple weeks and need to do some verification. Any advise?

$7 shoot all day. Main range has 100 yard and some 200 yard.

Main Range – This range is used by the general public for recreational shooting. It has 67 positions at distances from 5 yards to 200 yards. All types of firearms may be used with the exceptions of .416 Barrett Round, .50 BMG (Browning Machine Gun) Round, Tracer Rounds, and Armor Piercing Rounds. This range is restricted to public use only.

Thanks AZ1!

I knew about BA and will definitely visit. Weather is a concern for me, hope I can get finished before I burst into flames. I do wish they would let public shooter stretch it out further. I would like to put steel out and get some practice and shoot some groups at further distances.

Any 100y indoor ranges worth visiting?

The only 100 yard indoor range I've heard of is
Copper Star Indoor Shooting Range
3535 West Sharp Shooter Way
Camp Verde, AZ 86322

Scottsdale Gun Club was going to build one on the Northeast corner of 83rd Ave and Thunderbird, but for some reason it was cancelled.

Phoenix Rod and Gun Club. We have a 100 yard rifle range right next to another rifle range with a 100 yard minimum, it also has firing lines at 200, 300 and 500 yards. You also don't have to deal with the RSO's that inhabit Avery who can be reals dicks. Even on the weekend at PRGC there is a 100 rifle range open to members only as long as a match is not going on but if you want 500 weekdays are best and be there by 7 as the 100/200 yard line, you would need to have the gate closed to the 100-300 yard lines if you want to shoot at 500.

We have steel at the 200-500 distances. Well worth the cost just to not have to deal with the public.

Thanks 338!

That sound ideal. Can members put out their own steel? How is the membership signup process? Pretty quick and easy?

IMO... I would try to find one with 200 yd or longer as your better able to compare groups. Afteryou get nice tiny groups at 100 you can't really tell which is better or how they will open up until you shoot at longer distances.
Then you will have to do all the load dev all over again when you start moving out. May as well start at 200.

I start everything at 100y and then test them out to 500y - 800y or more depending on the caliber. 100y range close to home is always nice as I can take a quick trip to verify loads and zeroes before a match.

There is steel at the 200 yard line and we use that, you bring your own black paint and paint it when you are done. I don't think any range other than Cowtown will allow your own steel but that is about 5 times the cost per year.

Go to their website and fill out a application. Ben will let you know when you are approved and you set up the appointment to walk through the club. If you want the 300 or the 500 yard line be there early and close the gate at the 300 yard line for the 300 and the 500 yard line even if you are going downrange to paint targets. You may be limited to your time on the 500 as the 200 yard line has priority. Summer it is usually deserted and winter can get busy. There are days where high power does it's practice and they have that whole range for a few hours, I believe it is currently Friday.

Also there are no RSO's on the range during the week. We call the range hot and cold for when someone needs to go downrange to check targets. No real hard asses here but if you do something stupid a member will get on you. If a member sees a safety violation you will be asked to stop doing what you are doing. All rounds must impact the backstops.

It really is a nice place to shoot, most members are decent people. We have competitions set up weekly and members can join in or bring a friend with you. You also get to shoot inside a gated range where if you don't have a code you don't get in.
