    2021 Spring Big Sandy

    Gun range closures due to COVID-19?

    I am planning to go to Elsey Pearson range tomorrow and was wondering if anyone knows if it has been closed due to social distancing pandemic mitigation practices. It seems that municipalities, counties, and states are starting to limit meeting sizes, or places of congregation, events, etc...

    30-06 loads

    Had some fun on the range a few weeks back with the Garand. All loads listed here functioned. No FTF or FTE. Groups were best when loads were hottest. Liked the feel of 4064. The other ball powders all felt a bit "hot" - even at the low charges. Powder Grains Velocity Temperature...

    Gunsmith *found* for 1911 Colt Project

    Shooting the old 1911 (around 1917-1918 manufacture) and the front sight blade broke off at the stake pin. I was able to find the intact front sight blade, but the front sight stake assembly going through the slide is broke. Tried to find a reproduction stake front sight blade - but no luck...
