ATF ignores own regs and prosecutes pistol brace as SBR
The good news is the poor shmuck they prosecuted beat the rap. The bad news is that they tried it all.

Now the charges and legal fees ARE the punishment.
Re: ATF ignores own regs and prosecutes pistol brace as SBR
I saw a guy at my club on Monday with a .45 pistol carbine with about a 6" barrel, a pistol brace and a vertical fore grip. I asked if it was a registered SBR and he said no. I told him he might want to check the law as the grip made it a felony. Guess he knows more than someone in the industry.

Sad thing is the guy I talked to when he gets busted there is no I'm sorry I didn't know or I thought this was ok or someone told me it is ok, I'll fix this and he gets to go on his way. Off to the f*** meat grinder for him with some time in a awesome club fed. I f*** hate the law.

So long as the grip is not 90 degrees to the bore/barrel it's good to go per atf letter at least until they change their minds...338lapua wrote: ↑November 2nd, 2018, 6:26 pm I saw a guy at my club on Monday with a .45 pistol carbine with about a 6" barrel, a pistol brace and a vertical fore grip. Now if it was a standard 90 degree grip, yah, thats no bueno for sure.
yah, nfa needs to be abolished, sbr's, sbs's, aow, and silencers need be dropped to title 1 at minimum.338lapua wrote: ↑November 2nd, 2018, 6:31 pm Sad thing is the guy I talked to when he gets busted there is no I'm sorry I didn't know or I thought this was ok or someone told me it is ok, I'll fix this and he gets to go on his way. It was a illegal grip. He may learn the hard way if caught. I believe you should be able to have a vertical grip on his rifle so your hand can't go in front of the barrel or ATF should have to pay the medical bills of anyone who shoots their own hand because of their stupid f*** rules.

The owner deserves to be in jail. Not because of the law, but because he built the ugliest AR’s I have ever seen.

I agree with the writer, why was the case prosecuted, that is very concerning. Wonder if Wright could sue to recover his expenses?

the same ATF said bump stocks were ok also.one should not trust anything they say any more.like atf knows the difference between 90 degrees and 60 degrees really.
