Questions about website log retention

This came up in another thread and I thought it's worth bringing up as its own topic. I get that logs are sometimes required to efficiently manage a site and aid in troubleshooting. That said, what are the retention settings on AZS? Post history is effectively forever, as I'd expect, but what about login & browsing history? How long is that traffic currently saved and would it make sense to truncate after a reasonable retention period?

There's no judgement in this question - it's not my site and the site owner can maintain it however they wish (i.e., I'm not one of those clowns who post on someone else's servers then say "this data belongs to me - you can't use it in any way even though you pay to manage & host it"). But unless you're selling personalized ads to monetize traffic, I personally think that something like 3-6 months is plenty of time to retain for troubleshooting purposes while balancing any privacy concerns from long-term retention.

Only whatever Apache and phpBB retain by default.
