backpagegun.com gone?

If it doesn't fit the topic in any of the other forums, and is firearm-related, put it here!

Just wondering if anyone knows what happened to https://backpagegun.com?

It has been under maintenance for a couple week now.

The domain expired and it was lost. The domain has been reacquired and it's being rebuilt better than before. This was from the Ammo AZ live feed a few weeks back. I believe they own the domain.

I don't see any way to pin down WHERE the gun/advertiser is.
Can't always rely on the area code alone.

Man, I’m seeing so many WTS ads that clearly look like typical scammer material that I’m impressed.
Way too good prices for new guns, G Mail contact only, electronic pay only, multiple ads, and can’t spell.
And all in the same ad.

Not sure what they did to the website, but it does not look very functional at all. Just be aware that there is a much better alternative at GunsArizona.com

Well I suppose if you consider 3 posts a month consisting of 1 scam, 1 $3000 dollar stock glock, and 1 pawn shop ad as "useful" when it comes to a firearms sales website - then good for you.

It isn't a complaint - it is a statement. Out of all the sites (this one, AZSZ, AZgunbuy, armslist, etc) That one was by far the worst in both content and use.

As for your snark - yes I actually could create my own. It isn't that hard. I could even host it myself considering I have what equates to a small data center in my home office about 5 feet away from where I am sitting now. I host my own private cloud, VPN, media server, etc. Making/hosting an equivalent site to Backpagegun would take about 30 minutes of work and setup, it is really easy to be that mediocre in the world of websites. The current version is a disaster too. Anyone that has used a reasonably good website is sure to agree.

If you have that capability, then why haven't you done so already if you're unhappy with what's available???? And, why are you complaining about something you could easily remedy???

Me, I just don't use them, so I have no reason to complain or not.

Have a great, gun carryin', Kenpo day
