Do You Number Your Magazines? – Everyday Carry Pocket Dump of the Day
Re: Do You Number Your Magazines? – Everyday Carry Pocket Dump of the Day
For that eventuality, I put a mark on them as do my shooting buddies, but we don't number them.

I don't number them. That's too impersonal. I give them names.
Lately, Billy has been acting up, so I'm giving him a time out.

Did you just assume your mag's gender?smithers599 wrote: ↑September 3rd, 2018, 7:31 pm I don't number them. That's too impersonal. I give them names.

When I suspect a magazine of being defective, I put a piece of masking tape over the feed lips, and throw it into the range bag until I can inspect it later. (I carry the masking tape to tape targets, just in case I actually ever make a hole in one.)

If a mag don't work at the ranged it's trashed. Also I have learned to stay away from cheap aftermarket mags for this very reason.

I number them all and the mags I use at a match I put my initials on. Just easier to keep track of. Some I also mark for loading with rifle match ammo verse just practice ammo.

I'm with this guy ^^^ The failures go in a pile, they are examined for defects, cleaned, and marked. They are then tried again. After second failure, the are disposed of. Simple, clean and no third chances
