Trying to get this thing working for a friend. Winchester model 290 .22. I will fire one or twice then just a click. I THINK the problem is a chip in the firing pin. Ordered a new one to try. Have yet to find out how to get it all apart though.
Thoughts or ideas?
TIA

FYI, that case did NOT fire. Thinking it's to far off the edge.

There are several videos on youtube that go through the process. The schematics are probably available at gunpartscorp.com.

Looks like a chipped firing pin. Ya might be able to smooth it out with a file or dremel and see if it works any better.

Yea, that FP is beat to hell. Replace it by drifting out the little rollpin about 75% back from the front nose.
If you look in from the back side, you can see the step of the FP hitting it to keep it in place.
The FP spring is also the extractor spring, don't lose the little ball that rides on the other end against the extractor.
