Armslist Commits Suicide
Armslist just committed suicide.
It now costs $4-$7 per month if you want to post or reply to any ad you see.
They cite rising legal costs forcing them to generate funds via a monthly subscription.
No thanks.

Re: Armslist Commits Suicide
I would consider $1-2 per month IF you could view and rate other user accounts. That would clean up a lot of the filth on there. The scammers would fall away, and you'd know if you're dealing with someone you can trust. Oh well. So long Armslist!

I have done a lot of deals there. Too bad. Loads of quality people right here, though.

Re: Armslist Commits Suicide
What a bunch of dumbasses. I have been able to find a workaround thanks to arf forums
Ifucking hate Armslist even before this bullshit, but have found that as the only way to buy/sell to a wider audience than any other methods locally.

Re: Armslist Commits Suicide
the problem with selling here is that its like trying to sell ice to eskimos. Most people here already have more guns than they need so unless you are selling something highly desirable, hard to get or giving it away .. it can sit for ages.
I have never bought a gun on Armslist but got some good deals on ammo and components before the madness but when I wanted to sell, while I always put it up here first, it could sit here for weeks but be gone on armslist in a day or two because it has more new shooters or people that dont have 18 guns and just want a bargain.
I would have been ok with some type of system where if a seller sells a gun armslist gets a cut but not being able to enter into the conversation with someone without having a membership just means I wont be cruising armslist for Sh*t I probably dont need anyway.

Yeah, no great loss. I ran into as many folks I'd rather not sell to/buy from on there as I have with Backpage.
Besides, it'll be one less place to get the "damn I want that" feels.

I guess it was a good thing I made a deal last weekend.
