But yeah, I like Glocks. I have a few extremely valuable ones, but no Gen 1 Glock 19's, sadly
I still have 2 brand new never issued gen 1 Glock 19 marked MPDC on the slide. I paid $425 a piece for them, sold one in 2012 that I put 42,000 rounds through for $425. Still had all the original factory springs in it and it still worked and shot nice groups.

I had one Glock back in the 90's and couldn't get used to the grip (shooting a S&W 59 & 1911 before that). Sold it and haven't had one since. I went with the XD platform for my striker fired guns.
Once you get invested in extra mags, holsters, sights, trigger jobs... its hard to switch to something else.

I have 3 myself. What is great about Glocks as with the 1911, You can get parts for them anywhere. There are so many aftermarket parts and dealers, you can ALMOST walk into a grocery store and get some.

CZ75B, S&W39 and the P226 are my favorite 9mm. Tried th Glock 19 a few times just never lit my fire.

Glocks work but I wouldn't say they are the best shooters out there. I own plenty of them for the pure fact that magazines, accessories and after market parts are cheap and plentiful. I would much rather shoot any metal gun over any plastic gun. I also don't think they are necessarily the best striker fired handgun out there also. When I had M&P's I thought they were a better shooters than my Glocks but ultimately got rid of them due to magazine prices but if the magazines ever came down in price I would probably pick another one up.

My favorite Glock model is the 17. A G17 can do everything a 34 can and fits my giant hands better than the G19. I've had multiple G19's and just end up getting rid of them because they don't fill a role for my lifestyle. I'd much rather carry a G17 out hiking than a G19 even if it weighs more because the difference isn't all that much. I can't conceal carry a G19 comfortably unless I'm going somewhere cold and can sacrifice comfort for something bigger. Even then I still end up carrying a G17 over the G19. I carry a G26 pretty much everyday around the valley all year round because very few days can I wear anything more than a flannel. Now that the 43X has come out I am thinking of getting one of those to carry as it's basically the same size as the Smith and Wesson shield which I can comfortably carry anytime. With all that being said I still own a G34, G17, G19 and a G26. The newer Glock models haven't caught my attention because every role I need filled can already be filled with the current Glocks I own. The only new ones I am contemplating about getting are the G48 or G43X.

I just bought my first piece of Tupperware, Glock 19 gen 4. The 1911s in .45 are getting to be a little less intriguing in my old age, not that I don’t still like to take them shooting once in a while, I had abandoned all my 9mm stuff in favor of the .45 and the .38 special for the revolvers. Well that was a stupid plan. Back to square one!

My only gripe with my G19 gen 4 and G43 is the undercut in the trigger guard. Thats taken care of easily enough! I had a double undercut done on my G19's frame and its perfect. My knuckles don't rub on the trigger guard uncomfortably anymore.

I agree with a lot of the people here though, Glocks aren't the end all be all of handguns. They go bang every time though and thats the most important part for me!

I started casually shooting in the mid 1980's. First handgun was a S&W model 66-2 in 1985. 2nd handgun and first auto was around '91 with a S&W 5904. Never interested in Glocks. Stopped shooting in the mid '90's with the birth of my children.

Got drawn back into shooting about 3 years ago. Bought a Ruger SP101 in Jan. 2016 and in Oct '16 picked up a S&W 6906. (Still had the 66-2 and the 5904) Still had never shot a Glock and no interest in them.

Then, end of January 2017, I'm at the range (C2) with 2 friends. Shot one's G17 and the other's G42. From the first round in each I was shooting those Glocks better than anything I owned. The next weekend I went to the range by myself and rented a G26 - and shot that better than anything I owned. Drove to Carl's Jr for biscuits and gravy, then straight to AZ Firearms and Collectibles (Tempe) and bought a Glock 19.

Now I own 4 Glocks - 2 G43's; 2 G19's. And I still shoot them better than my Smith autos.
I tried to resist the Glock darkside - but finally succumbed. However, I'm not a Glock only guy - have bought a Sig P365 and a Walther PPS M2 LE since.

(Yeah, I'm partial to the Grays)

Real cheap... wolf barrel makes a barrel for the G22 to turn them into 9mm.
