Steyr HS-50...Opinions and/or Experiences

I might have the opportunity to pick one up on a screaming deal and it would be my first 50bmg rifle so looking for what others think.

Would also come with a Schmidt Bender 5-25x56 scope.

I got a Barrett 99 in 50bmg.
If you want it and can afford it then buy it. I have a few hundred rounds and that'll be a lifetime but for me so worth it.

I am really leaning towards buying if the first guy backs out (which it looks like he is). I will know on Monday.

I can afford it but absent shtf and a need to take out armored vehicles (or Graboids), I'm not sure how much I would actually use it.

Yeah I know but the only real safe queen we have is the wife's John Wayne Colt New Frontier. It is unfired and she wants to keep it that way.

Well looks like the deal fell through. When I met up with him the rifle was wearing a different, much cheaper scope (not one that would survive a 50) and he wanted more money then we had previously talked about. I didn't like getting jacked around so we didn't make the deal.

Yeah and truth be told it was still an ok deal, just not as good as the one that attracted me to it. Heck even my wife was upset he had tried to change the deal thinking I wouldn't notice.

So is life.
There will be another 50. Since I bought mine, I've run across 2 ok deals.
I just never was on three lookout for em.
