OK, I have to admit to old guy induced pre-conceived notions. I'll admit to the beliefs that all 1911's smaller than Commander size are just inherently unreliable.
However, I went to Arizona Firearms with the intent to buy a Commander size 1911 and wound up with this cut down SA EMP 3 inch in 9mm and, so far, it has been a real reliable gun. I guess things do change and evolve although I realize Springfield has down a lot of work to this line of pistols since they have a lot of propriety parts that are different from regular 1911's. Anyway I just had to admit that, sometimes, things do change for the better.

Re: I have to admit I was wrong
Yeah, I kind of got sucked in to it since that particular used gun came with 6 mags and because the EMP mags are proprietary so that was a big selling point for me. Now I'm glad I got suckered into it because of that.Rock Hardson wrote: ↑July 1st, 2022, 7:39 pm I saw that on their Gunbroker page. Looks nice. Congrats

Re: I have to admit I was wrong
The key here is it is the 9mm model. They have always been more reliable in the shorties. I stand by the statement that officer models and such in .45 are no goodski jamtastics.

horsefeathers, i have a dozen micros and semi micros reliable, accurate and in the kill all day round that will not only blow out a lung, but your other goodies too, and it'll only take one round (for the slow ones thats the .45 acp,) and if you line'm up you can get two or three for one.
carry on with the bullshite, hehehe

Yep, have had a Kimber Eclipse in the officer size and never had had any issues in over a thousand rounds.

Re: I have to admit I was wrong
I agree with SMG, 9mm has always been more reliable in a short 1911 than a 45acp version. I haven't owned a 3" 1911 for many years...one of my first pistols was a 45acp Kimber Ultra Ten-II. It was very reliable, as long as I didn't want to use certain hollow point ammo.
