You couldn't possibly be more incorrect!

The purpose of the U.S. gov't AS INTENDED was to protect and preserve our rights! In so doing,...yes,...prevent invasions and defend against threats. But the core elements was always to be thr preservation of our liberties. And that to that end, whenever government actions actually take effect against that core purpose, it is illegitimate! This is essential to all understanding of legitimate U.S. government authority. Transgression against it nullifies any claim of such supposed authority.

You deleted the rest of my statement. You can eat and drink and smoke whatever you want UNTIL it poses a threat to my well being. The example is drinking and drunk driving. Drink until you puke and pass out at your home if you want. But you can't drink and drive because you endanger others. So the government is required to stop you from driving drunk as part of it's role to provide protections to it's citizens. Smoke if you want, just not where it affects my health.

This is all part of the guarantee of MY RIGHT of LIFE LIBERTY and the PURSUIT of HAPPINESS.

When you drive drunk and crash into me, you are violating MY rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
When you smoke pot, you endanger me on the road and at my job; again, you are violating MY rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
The government protects my rights from the drunks and potheads just as it does from murderers and armed invasions.

But you seem to be advocating for prior restraint; assigning blame for harm before any is done. That is the pernicious ideological underpinning of the entire ban mentlity that has foisted the evils of the failed drug war upon us all, and gives life to the gun banners as well. If someone actually trespasses against you by actually causing something to occur,...fine, hammer the s*** out of em. But this prior restraint BS is responsible for so much of our liberties disappearing. Damn it, it pisses me off.

Above is the REAL front line enemy of the battles yet to come! If one dose not understand what SMGlock has shared,... you are an programmed sheep!

THOUGHT POLICE will be, and to a certain degree are, the front line propaganda tool of those who wish to overthrow this Nation!

It is the perfect propaganda weapon created by the parasitic socialist secret state.

WHY?

Because there is no defense for an offense that has not been committed!! Basically, it is the infringement upon our Constitutionally protected Right to due process, aka, innocent until proven guilty!

As SMGlock has insinuated,...if this propaganda tool is not recognized and fought head on, in the light of day,... it surely will be a major down hill slope of the United States of America,... imo.

Using S-M-G's logic, then we shouldn't have laws prohibiting threatening to shoot a person or firing a warning shot at a person who cuts you off in traffic; because no crime has yet been committed in his opinion. A civil society makes laws (sometimes flawed laws) to prevent people from infringing on other people's rights. Driving drunk can most likely infringe on another person's right to live. Driving stoned can likely infringe on another person's right to live. Therefore, we have laws against such activities to prevent innocent people from dying.
Using his logic, we shouldn't have speed limits either. Everyone drive as fast as they want, even if it is likely to cause injury or death to another person.

That "prior restraint" bit is pretty lame. So you are saying no laws until someone actually gets hurt or dies? In each of the examples mentioned by me and you, people did already die. i.e. Hence the more strict DUI laws compared to the laws of the 80's.

Without your so called "prior restraints", you can't hammer the &!$% out of them because there is no law against whatever it is they did to harm you.

Hmmm , seems some folk just can't seem to wrap their brain around the concept of INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY!!!

A Nation can have all the "LAWS" on the books they wish,... laws for every societal protection they wish,... but,... what society can not do,... is pass legislation infringing on a person's human Rights without due process and stated cause,... BEFORE an illegal act is committed!

Government actions, as such, are an infringement on every citizens Natural Human Rights!

Passing legislation aimed at punishing, or infringing on a citizen's Human Rights BEFORE an illegal act is committed, based solely on an assumption that an illegal act will be perpetrated in the future, is basic Fascism 101 !!!

Now,... as to the statement "...guarantee of MY RIGHT of LIFE LIBERTY and the PURSUIT of HAPPINESS."

THERE IS NO SUCH GOVERNMENT GUARANTEE !!!

That is unless someone is REDEFINING the word, to suit their need,...
guar·an·tee
/ˌɡerənˈtē/Submit
noun
1.
a formal promise or assurance (typically in writing) that certain conditions will be fulfilled, especially that a product will be repaired or replaced if not of a specified quality and durability.

There is no Government GUARANTEE of HUMAN RIGHTS in the USA.

WHY?

Because the GOVERMENT can not,... guar·an·tee,... that which it did not legislate, and which it has no authority over!

Now,... our Government has been challenged to PROTECT our Inalienable Natural Human Rights, Endowed upon ALL by their creator,... by including the Bill of Rights as the first ten amendments of the Constitution,... BUT,... these are PROTECTIONS legislated to RESTRAIN the GOVERNMENT from INFRINGEMENT upon it's citizens Human Rights,... not a guar·an·tee of Human Rights, per se !!!

The only guar·an·tee to our Human Rights, can only be given by the originator of said Human Rights,... and, I wish all the best, to anyone attempting to solidify such a guar·an·tee by their creator, who endowed them upon us, in the first place!!!

WORDS HAVE POWER!

If one wishes to have a guar·an·tee for one's Human Rights, one need only accept that they are inalienably within you, and YOU are the absolute first and last line of protection of said Rights,... not society,... and not Government,... as it should be!!!

No, not a win. You, shooter444, and others of similar mindset will always see every law as an infringement on your rights. It is narcissistic to believe that your personal freedom to do as you please trumps everyone else's right to live without concern for their own safety due to your negligence and self centeredness.

Smoking pot puts other people at risk. The car accident rate has gone up significantly in every state after legalization. Just as driving drunk is a danger to society, so is MMJ.

You want to ignore those truths and facts, that is your choice. You want to use some misguided logic and claim it infringes on your inalienable rights, go ahead.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Thank God that we live in a country more free and less restrictive than any other on earth.

Then by your logic semi autos should be illegal because it makes it easier to shoot people and all alcohol should be banned it leads to domestic violence, traffic accidents as well. Lets at least get alcohol banned as we could be cleaning our gun when drunk and shoot someone. Everything can be abused but I am sick of the option for cancer patients who are gun owners not being allowed.

I think it's good they take the question off the form. I personally don't see dope as any worse than alcohol. It can be abused or enjoyed recreationally just the same drinking can.

I think a lot of people are taking things way worse, but some how it's alright because a doctor prescribed it.

According to your very own statement alcohol apparently does lead to domestic violence.
After all you are the one that said you have at least 10 friends that have beat their wives after drinking alcohol. Then again you do like to tell stories.

Hmmm,... some seem to think that LAWS, or REGULATIONS, or a BAN, or PROHIBITION,... will prevent all these horrible outcomes they present in support of their argument.

Fools,... every one!

Seems to me that to promote passing laws restricting the masses , due to the possible or even likely actions of a few is exactly how the gun ban hoplophobia gains traction.
If some one has legal weed and breaks a law , prosecute for the law that is broken.
