Prescott Gun Shows

#1

Post by vtachrn »

Anyone ever been to one of the Prescott Gun shows? I have only attended the ones down here in the Phoenix area. Looks like the next one is Oct 13-14th and is a Crossroads of the West. Is it worth the drive from Surprise?

If there are more local vendors and private sellers it would be worth the trip.

I haven't, but a day trip out of the valley would be nice. Where is it located?

Generally not worth it, IMO. When I lived in Prescott Valley, it was a 5 minute walk from my house and I wouldn't go. I suppose if you were looking for bulk ammo it may be worth a trip if you were local, but there isn't anything there you can't find in Sportsman's Warehouse or your LGS.

The event floor in Prescott Valley is smaller than the main floor at the Ice House at the Phx fair grounds.

I"ve been a time or two, not great, but still a gun show visit is better than some alternatives, and lots to do in preskitt, and or over the hill in the liberal community of jerome, hehe, now theres a stretch.
or sache up to wine country north of cornville, have some grape juice, a tad of lunch or snacks and enjoy some Az's good wine

I go to them once in a while you can find a deal. Has free parking and is similar to the show at mesa centennial hall.

I’ve gone to them as a customer and as a dealer with a table. The foot traffic is solid and it’s pretty packed most the day Saturday, Sunday morning it’s like a ghost town.

The dealers there for the most part are the same dealers you’ll see down here, however there are some smaller dealers who only want to do small shows and the Prescott show is good for that.

The Prescott show used to be run by another organization until the last minute of the show in August when they had to either sell it to crossroads or pay such a high premium for insurance that it would have collapsed them entirely anyway. Insurance rates have gone up a lot in the firearms industry in the past few years.

Overall you can find some decent deals at the shows if you know what to look for and who to stay away from. I can’t believe some of the pricing they sell stuff for at shows, it’s almost like people haven’t heard of that thing called the internet. When the sig 365’s came out There was a table next to mine in Mesa who was selling the 365’s for $699 plus tax. Wow just wow wtf! He had 16 at the beginning of the show and had 4 left at the end of the show.
