R.I.P. Armslist. I've found a few good deals on scopes and AR parts there in the past.

I have to imagine that they are trying to capitalize on the gun rush. Problem is .... Any successful business person or company has an ability to read tea leaves, luck and good timing along with intelligence and I think they missed the boat.

Like cheaper than dirt and some others, if you wanted to jump on the pricing bandwagon the time to institute something like this was a few months back if they were going after first time gun owners and sellers who wanted to get rid of some extras.

Like I said. I would have been fine with a gunbroker type deal where if I sell an item I pay a fee but locking out potential buyers seems foolish

I'm really having trouble getting on Armslist at all. I keep getting a security warning and I'm not sure if it's my personal computer or just the fact that Armslist is changing. What happens when you guys "first " get on, what message do you get. This is strange.

I just checked and got the same thing. Apparently, their SSL certificate expired. Maybe they were just trying to raise some funds to pay their GoDaddy bill.

I only used Armslist to get some idea of what items asking price was. But would not pay just to have a look at what's for sale.

Where can one sell ammo to locals? I used backpage when it was up. Been that long since I got rid of anything.

https://backpagegun.com/

It has almost no Tucson traffic but a lot of Phoenix.

Ok, so I found some Ammo that I want to buy on Armslist. I clicked on "contact seller" and it's now saying I have to upgrade my account before I can contact him. In other words, I have to pay Armslist money to contact someone who's paying Armslist to advertise.

Am I understanding this right? Some of the ad's allow me to contact the seller. Are these the older ad's?

It was OK while it lasted. Mostly entertaining to see what people were trying to get something for nothing.

Found another site to put on everyone's radar; gunsarizona.com

While they don't have a ton of listings, they have more than backpagegun.com, and it's better organized.

It appears to have the highest prices in Arizona - along with a very high percentage of scammers.

All of the out of state advertisers are scammers.

Heritage Rough Riders are only $325 and SKS's are $1,000.

Be careful out there.
Backpage, Armslist, etc....they all have scammers. Prices are crazy right now, nothing anyone can do about that.

Unfortunately, until someone comes along and makes a viable, very popular alternative, we are stuck with dozens of small want-to-be sites instead of one go-to site.

I use Armslist all the time to buy and sell. This sucks. I would still pay to sell, but I’m sure not going to pay to respond to a post! However, nobody’s going to pay to respond to a post so that makes posting stupid.

Thanks for the link to backpage firearms. I didn’t even know about it.
