Your predictions on when the panic buying might subside or end

#1

Post by Fragout21 »

I am curious what your thoughts are on when the panic buying, which started in March 2020, might subside or end.

My own thoughts are the panic buying will start to subside once gun manufacturing and associated material supply chains return to a normal state (this would be once a vaccine for COVID-19 is released). I also anticipate the outcome of the presidential election could potentially reduce or prolong the panic buying.

Each new riot brings new gun owners... I unfortunately believe that the supply chain isn't even close to recouping. Kentucky just pushed back ready supply who knows how long.

Prices from manufacturers on guns and ammo will continue to go up..

At earliest .. my prediction .. a year after the election maybe.

Ride it out and save your pennies. When it drops buy what you can to make it through the next time it happens. One thing we can all be certain of is this is a never ending up and down cycle.

Dont get stuck on what it used to cost since it may never return back to that level but it will eventually subside and stabilize.

If Trump wins, demand reduces, supply increases, and prices reduce starting on November 4. If Biden wins, demand will be so high that prices will go up to $3-$5 per round, and what I have in the house right now will have to last me the rest of my life and I will never be able to afford to resupply. This is a very important election just for that reason -- not to even mention switching from a capitalist to a socialist economy, and packing the Supreme Court.

Of course the elections have an impact long and short term but .. the reality is .. there is so much raw material at hand and so many people to create something with the raw materials. Prices wont drop the day after Trump gets reelected and I think it might be unwise to think that way.

I believe that China is the biggest miner or exporter of lead
Primers is an involved process to make
you would have to run three shifts in order to make ammo or guns fast enough to make up for what was taken out of the supply chain that no company could have forcast.

Extra shifts in some cases means overtime pay or night differential.

Back to my widgets .. Companies forecast what they would need based on previous sales and then maybe pad some. None of them could have predicted rioting that goes on without end and no on to enforce law and order No one could have predicted the Chinese would half step when playing with potentially deadly contagions.

So no .. I think it is EXTREMELY optimistic to think if Trump wins normalcy in the gun world follows.
I hope I am wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This will take at least a year to regroup. The good thing is .. when Trump wins and if there is a return to something resembling normal behavior in America meaning when you set sh*t on fire you go to jail .. at that time there should be A lot of guns for sale on the secondary market but

my advice .. plan like this is the new normal for at least a year past the election if Trump wins .... and who the hell knows what for how long if they stuff enough ballots to elect Biden.

If Trump wins we are probably looking at mid 2021 for supply to be plentiful and prices to be reasonable.

If Biden wins...we are screwed. We will not see reasonable pricing or supplies. He has been very open about taking guns, restricting ammo, and taxing the hell out of it all.

lol, no one has a crystal ball to even hazard a guess, this particular up tic is was out of the norm, its driven by fear, and just that, until this horseshiat is squared away with the rioting and unrest, it will continue and grow worse, you are fooling yourself if you think its going to subside anytime in the next few months, let alone the election.
keep your powder dry, and your friends close, one can only protect whats theirs, now and in the future

lots of truth here, but I don't see ammo prices EVER going back to what they were just a few years ago.
as stated above, if Biden wins, all bets are off, keep your powder dry and horde what you already have.

If a Trump wins, expect more violence and rioting from the far left. This will continue the trajectory and demand of guns and ammo with new gun owners. If Biden wins, I expect availability of ammo to dwindle and prices to continue to climb until its fully regulated by the Dems. In other words, this “situation” that we are in is becoming the new normal, but we could look back and say damn I wish I picked up more 9mm for .80c per round IMHO

Riots
Election Fears
Supply issues because of the coof

Two of these things need to go away before it will stabilize, all 3 before it goes back to normal. Mid 2021 if Trump gets reelected. Never if Biden wins.

You just described the AK market in a nutshell.
