Gun music

I'm sitting around feeling a bit wistful, missing an Arizona original troubadour, Joe Bethancourt, who has been gone many years now.

So here's a couple of his gun songs.

Many years ago I took guitar lessons from Joe. Miss him terribly.

Let's see if I can figure this out.

Audio quality is not that great, but from WesterCon a few years back.

The cowboy action shooters are familiar with the .32-20 primarily as a lever-action cartridge, but it was also a popular revolver round until it was pretty much eclipsed by the .38spl. Although most handgun makers stopped chambering in .32-20 after WW1, used .32-20 revolvers were a bargain item for poor folks such as black people long afterward. Here's a remake by Eric Clapton of an old Robert Johnston delta blues hit from 1936.

If you're not already familiar with Corb Lund, you probably should be.
