Can't remember if it was on this or another local forum thread regarding carry insurance that someone (who appeared to be pretty knowledgeable) posted that it is not required (assuming the incident is a good shoot) in Arizona due to Arizona Constitution and AZ revised statutes. His point was that carry Insurance is a waste of money in Arizona. Please feel free to confirm or deny...

The Arizona Crime Victims Protection Act Amendment, also known as Proposition 114, was on the November 6, 2012 general election ballot in the state of Arizona as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure prohibited crime victims from being subject to a claim for damages for causing harm to a person if that person is killed or injured when engaging in, or fleeing after, a felony crime. It was introduced during 2011 state legislative session, where its formal title was SCR 1020.

Remember the guy that shot the homeless man and his dogs when they attacked him? He was convicted, then released. He could have used some insurance to cover those legal bills.

You may be 100% legally correct, but if arrested, charged, prosecuted, and found not guilty, you still have significant costs.

I've been to one of these. I'd already purchased insurance prior so I was just there for the refresher on legal info. The "sales" portion of it is very minimal. He spent the majority of the class covering basic Arizona law and answering questions. I went when he had it over at SGC.

Thanks Flash & A_C Guy for the responses. I tend to agree with SecretV - no matter what happens in the aftermath, the odds are high that you'll be out time & more money than the insurance premium regardless... Think I'm gonna wear suspenders and a belt...
