Good guy with gun
Just saw this. Guess it’s not being covered by regular media, or did I just miss it.
Police say a suspect is dead after several armed robberies and a shooting at convenience stores in Scottsdale and Mesa.
Scottsdale police say a shooting broke out around 3 a.m. Friday, July 3 at a Circle K near 81st Street and Indian School Road.
Police say the suspect entered the Circle K and committed an armed robbery, shooting at the store clerk in the process. A bystander then entered the store, and the suspect shot and killed them, police said.
After exiting the store, the suspect engaged in a shooting with a second bystander, during which the suspect was killed, police said.
The bystander was injured and taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Police also learned the suspect was involved in two other armed robberies before the shootings: the first around 11:40 p.m. Thursday, July 2 at a Circle K near Loop 101 and Shea Boulevard, and the other around 2:15 a.m. at a Circle K at 1550 N. Country Club Drive in Mesa. Police said the suspect also fired rounds at those locations but no one was struck.
Police have only described the suspect as an adult male. The investigation remains ongoing.

Re: Good guy with gun
A big question is, was the good-guy directly threatened by the robber? Or, did he flat-out interject himself?

Re: Good guy with gun
I'd assume interjecting himself as it was clear they were threatening the lives of others? which is legal, protecting on someone's behalf.
Now... if no one else was around I guess you could question that it was reckless to his own life

there are some in this world that run to the sound of gun fire, and those that run from it.

Re: Good guy with gun
Hopefully nothing bad comes to him.
I don't see that happening though.

Re: Good guy with gun
Completely legal to defend someone else from loss of life, grave bodily harm or sexual assault.
IIRC AZ also protects the shooter (defender) from civil lawsuits from the criminal or their estate.
