Best Picatinny Rail Covers
I've got an AR15 handguard with a section of open picatinny rail that I'd like to cover. There are quite a few different options out there, so for those of you who have had the chance to play with a few different models, what are your favorite Picatinny rail covers?

Ladders. Takes the edge off without oversizing the grip.

I'd get a new slick sided hand guard before I put a cover on open rail sections. I've been down that road...just adding weight and increasing the diameter.

That's cool. You do you. I remember 2007 also.AZ1182 wrote: ↑June 7th, 2020, 1:35 pm The added weight is negligible, open sections aren't bad either on the hands, I still have my DD Omega quad that's still on my Colt that I bought it for. Still works and on that short of a length of rail on a carbine gas length with FSB, the extra width is negligible, really as the thumb break method to me is really better to use to grip with in conjunction with a VFG to use as a hand placement and hand stop.
I use a Magpul rail on top, and https://bravocompanyusa.com/xt-rail-cover-black/ for the sides and bottom. They're user friendly to resize and custom fit for whatever reasons.

Re: Best Picatinny Rail Covers
Just for anyone else looking, I picked up some ladders and are quite happy with how they turned out. Low profile and just enough coverage to take the edge off when gripping the rails.

Ladders are great for top rail sections. For L/R and bottom, I like good `ol KAC rail panels (better when stippled), and Tango Down covers.
