Yup, the videos are in very bad form,... the instigators should be spoken to, imo.

Ok. Here. When I said Ar15 or handgun I didn't want to go into what type of hand gun. The ar15 is chambered in 556 and the handgun could be chambered in anything. So Ar or handgun for someone who can pass a ccw class?

So if it is between a handgun and an AR , why not an AR pistol ?

10.5” barrel AR in a home invasion defense scenario? A couple rounds that loud and muzzle flash would send all but the most determined team of bandits packing.

Dont you just love gun guys? A simple question with 2 choices and we go off script. Lol. That's why our ARs have so much sheit hanging off them we need a wheeled shooting stick just to use them. Lol.

Oh., one question, does the AR have a bayonet? ....

I agree with the revolver. Easier to handle and better recoil when confident. My mother learned with a 22 and then a 357/38 when she was 60 after Dad passed. She gave me her S&W just before she went into hospice well into her 80s. She felt very comfortable with it. But she started with a 22 revolver and then progressed after 1 day off shooting.

Because that's not what Scottsdale gun club is pushing. A friend of mine went and got his ccw the other night and they said the best home defense weapon there is was the Ar15 in 556. Then I had to explain to him it would not be good for a person not trained in room clearing to use a AR for home defense. The preferred weapon would be a hand gun.

I can’t imagine firing it in a small (10’x10’) bedroom or hallway with no ear protection.

Not a small or light framed one, either. They will kick too much and deter meaningful practice.
And everything else Jager wrote. I wouldn't have phrased everything exactly like him, but for the most part, I agree. (I'm way too lazy to write that much)

I just told the person that got his or her ccw that day, just hunker down in the corner with a good clear unobstructed view of the door and wait. Once the intruder comes through and they have id,ed who they are ( not the kids ) put 2 rounds center mass and if they don't go down 1 to the head. Let them walk into the kill box. Don't walk into theirs.

Shooting any firearm in a 10x10 room or hallway without ear pro is going to be very loud....some more than others. That's why I own suppressors.

And it won't be all that much quieter with a suppressor indoors. It'll still be louder than the pain threshold of a human being.

Try shooting a 9MM in an indoor range with a suppressor and you'll see what I mean.

Oh, I've shot my suppressed 9mm in my house, with subs. Not quiet, but MUCH less than a 5.56 rifle.

once again my previous post has mysteriously disappeared...

I said that if the guy is not a "gun person" he should stick to golf clubs and baseball bats for which he is probably more familiar.
