Christensen Arms in Utah

Proof CF barrels are the golden standard that all others are judged off of. You do pay for them, but there’s a reason that’s primarily what you see on precision rifles by well-known competitors.
Shameless plug, I have a 20” 1:8twist .223 Wylde Proof barrel I’m selling for well under retail (about $800, per most places). Message me if you’re interested, I don’t expect it to last too long...

I have been looking at the 11.5 inch Proof research 556 barrels. I can get one for 675 here in Phoenix.

Ah. Proof is the way to go, IMO, but at that short of a length, I personally would rather save a few hundred by going with a steel barrel at a slightly lighter contour over a CF barrel. The CF barrels really become worth it at longer lengths (~16”, but especially 18”+). But if you have the coin for them, they definitely won’t do you wrong at any length!

Yes but ask what I'm doing with it.

I give up, what?
Re: Carbon fiber ar15 barrel
I will be adding a carbon fiber silencer and carrying it for a long time when out in the mountains. Now a very light rifle is what I need because my back has been broke 3 times and I'm a old fu#$.
