SAR9 Work

#1

Post by Pro2a »

Anybody know a good CNC machinist who would work on a SAR9
Won't even dip into how smooth the gun shoots of how good it feels for a $300 gun
Looking for someone who will make some nice cuts and a cool slide design, and possibly porting the barrel.
I've inquired at two places on the west side, and they don't want to spend the time to reprogram for the new dimensions or something like that. Not well versed on a CNC machine, and don't know what it takes, but it sounds laborious, unless they just weren't interested.

This is something that is best done on a Bridgeport, not a CNC. Too much programming time and trying to indicate for a one time thing. Would just set it up in a soft vice on a rotator and mill the needed slots and holes. CNC would be looking at about 6hrs just to program and setup, if they were doing 50 of them it'd make sense

Yup, still doing some work, back surgery and divorce threw a monkey wrench in things but hoping to be back up to speed by spring. We mainly manufacture parts but do some custom work occasionally
