So no more Open Carry Cops in the stores, either.....right, Walmart? RIGHT?

I mean, Open Carry is Open Carry, regardless of who is doing it.

...oh, and by the way...I wouldn't have signed jack sh*t for Walmart...

I figured they would have caved on this but I guess not so I hope everyone stops shopping there. A hundred million gun owners going somewhere else they will feel.

It was probably "sign this or be arrested for trespassing ."
Are they now going to put posters of this guy up in every Walmart so they can identify him in case he comes in ?
More than likely if he is caught in another Walmart they will arrest him for trespassing.

Rules have never applied to cops, they are special people.

It was probably "sign this or be arrested for trespassing ."
Are they now going to put posters of this guy up in every Walmart so they can identify him in case he comes in ?
More than likely if he is caught in another Walmart they will arrest him for trespassing.

Someone, or some business, asks you to leave and you leave, you can't be arrested for trespass.

If he comes back, all he has to do is swipe his credit card (with his name on it) and the system will alert that he is at a register. THEN he can be arrested, since he came back.

Oh I agree, no doubt about it....but the act of Open Carrying is still the same....so Walmart is hypocritical about 'banning Open Carry'. If it was truly about OC (seeing the gun) why aren't people freaking out when they see a gun carried by a cop? Ah, so it's not really 'about the gun' at all....it's about them....not trusting YOU. It's about them....controlling YOU.

Yah, I tend to agree, Knockonit,... I don't believe a business can unilaterally "BAN" a citizen's travel without legal action.
I'm sure there are many that do, and, many that get away with it,.... but if push came to shove, my guess is, there has to be a court order.

But, I am not a legal scholar.

Yes, it would be, the next time, but how would they know when he actually enters a Walmart store 'the next time' ? A baseball hat and glasses would probably get most people past face recognition software (which I doubt is in use at Walmart) so they have to be tipped off another way...using a credit card at checkout would do it for sure.

I call bullshit on that. What if my name is John Smith and they banned some guy from their stores with the name John Smith? They would have to have some form of unique identifier for that customer and their credit card, and even a middle name would draw too many false positives. What if they use a different card? What if their old card expires? The examples are endless. Their non-self check out registers are stuck in the 1990's and I highly doubt they have the capability for this anyway. What if the customer just uses cash? Then all of the technology is meaningless.

Well, it would certainly be easier for WalMart Security to zoom in and check the five or six 'John Smith' customers that show up at a register, than to look at every single customer coming and going all day long, don't you think? It would be easy enough for them to set up an alert every time a card is swiped with that name on it, then quickly check to see if it's the one 'John Smith' that's banned. Even the self-checkouts have built-in cameras that get your face. Again, that's only going to work with a credit card, using cash keeps the name from showing up...
