If you did a mag dump at 600yds, how many hits would you get?

If it doesn't fit the topic in any of the other forums, and is firearm-related, put it here!

If you did a mag dump at 600yds, how many hits would you get?

If you said "all of them", we need you on the Arizona Rifle Team!

NTIT National Trophy Infantry Team match or "Rattle Battle" is a match that culminates the prestigious National Matches at Camp Perry OH. This one match consists of a team of 6 shooters, 8 “silhouette” style targets 600 yards away, 2 coaches with binoculars and 384 rounds for the entire team.

After shooting a magazine at 600yds, the shooters move together to 500, then 300 and finally 200 yds. At each distance there is 50 seconds to shoot. Hits at 600 yds count 4 points, 500 yds = 3 pts, 300 yds = 2 pts, 200 yds, 1 pt. Plus some bonus points are added if you get hits on all 8 targets, so there is a team strategy to figure out who shoots how many shots at which targets to maximize the score.

The target at 600 yds and 500 yds is a full-size silhouette target (E-target). At 300 and 200 yd a half-sized "prone" target is used.

This one is marked showing 16 hits!

Here is a 2007 Video showing the Army team.

Arizona sends both an Adult team and a Junior Team to Camp Perry. We spend all summer practicing. Since "Rattle Battle" is only shot at Camp Perry, most of our shoots nearly weekly year-round are the conventional bullseye style of shooting, so our "Rattle Battle" practice is pretty intense in June and July leading up to the National Matches the last week of July.

This shows the Arizona Junior Team practicing at Camp Perry this summer for Camp Perry 2019!

Conventional NRA/CMP style High Power Rifle Competition consists of 200, 300 and 600 yds slow fire and rapid fire, standing, sitting and prone at round bullseye style targets. Some folks fear that kind of shooting might be boring. If you're they type that finds this high-speed "mag dump" style of shooting intriguing, come out and watch some of our practices! We really like getting new folks into the high power rifle sport, experienced guys are always there to coach the new adult shooters, and of course the junior team has dedicated coaches and needs a new batch of shooters coming in every year since the 20-year olds "age out", so well-behaved teenagers from 13 to 19 are encourage to join!

Here is a pretty decent video from the IL team on the National Trophy Infantry Team Match.

That's awesome.
I've shot at long range (800m) before and it takes me half a box just to geton target.

If they are going to call it "Infantry Team" then have them wear body armor & helmets.
Dump the traditional jacket/glove&bonnet then maybe you'll have my interest.

1-4.5 power. "If" you play by the rules, the rifles are CMP/NRA service rifle.
This is shot in the summer here as training for the Nationals ( cancelled for this year).

600 yards, spectacular if you can hit them all. With my eyes, I'd have a hard time seeing a guy in a orange hi viz vest at 600 yards lol

Honestly, this sort of thing has more to do with a good position ( sling, bipod, backpack, whatever), Basic shooting skills and metal focus than rifle or eyesight.

Lots of off the shelf rifles will clean that target. Even AR's as long as they shoot heavies.

Same here. Now not sure if I'd have any hits.
