Re: NRA "looted into insolvency"?
Wouldn't it be ironic if the state of New York was responsible for saving and reinvigorating the NRA?
The deal with Allen West (and other board members) is that if they knew about WLP's looting, and looked the other way, then they are personally liable for negligently allowing the looting to continue. If they didn't know about it, but that was because they didn't exercise the oversight that a director should, again they are personally liable. It's one of those "knew or should have known" things. They could be bankrupted by penalties. Their defense must be "I knew nothing about it, and no reasonable person could have known about it." So Allen West is getting ahead of it.

Just because someone works for a company or organization doesn't mean they know where all the money is spent.
I would bet even some of the people in the accounting department had no idea of where all the money was going.

I hope this helps Gunowners of America to gain members. They are after all the "No Compromise" 2nd Amendment group.

I agree. I fully accept the possibility that he did not know about it -- and should not have known about it. If that is the case, he (and others) need to get ahead of the problem, and start making that case pronto.
I am sorry if I gave the impression that I don't believe him. IMO, Allen West would make a fine president of the New NRA (incorporated in some state other than NY).

Gun Control is politics and in politics, if you don't compromise, if you take the all or nothing approach, you get nothing.baja wrote: ↑May 15th, 2019, 4:18 pm I hope this helps Gunowners of America to gain members. They are after all the "No Compromise" 2nd Amendment group.

Re: NRA "looted into insolvency"?
Yes, Flash,... COMPROMISE is what politics is about. But, when one side of the debate for COMPROMISE, is occupied by a party that has purposely redefined and used COMPROMISE as a tool to override COMPROMISE, to get a deal that is NOT balanced,... then you have a very disgruntled country, imo.
Demonscats have weaponized COMPROMISE as they have all their projected use of the "ISM's" they abuse!!
They are NOT interested in COMPROMISE,... they are interested in continuing on their path to have their DEEP STATE COUP come completely out of the closet and take over the monetary wealth of this country and the power that comes with it.
IT TAKES TWO AT THE TABLE WILLING TO HAVE REAL COMPROMISE, TO GET COMPROMISE, Flash,... which we haven't had, for at least the past fifty years!

Re: NRA "looted into insolvency"?
Here's a list of some of the federal gun control laws, not to mention the hundreds/thousands of state and local anti-gun laws
The National Firearms Act (NFA)
The Federal Firearms Act (FFA) of 1938
Gun Control Act of 1968
1986 the Firearm Owners Protection Act
The Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act of 1993
The assault weapons ban 1994
How's that compromising working out so far?
You Never Compromise On Your Natural Born, God-Given Rights.
Ever.
Period.

Re: NRA "looted into insolvency"?
COMPROMISE to a Demonscat, is, two steps in their direction and one back in our direction,... two steps in their direction and one back in our direction,... ad infinitum !!!
I am through with anymore attempt at compromise, and I am against all conservative politicians that are so stupid they don't see this tactic played upon them, over and over, for decades and decades!

Baja,... agreed, but, the majority of members here, let alone the majority of the citizen population across this Nation,... don't have a clue what their "God-Given Rights" really are! You can't defend against political infringement on "God Given Rights",... when one doesn't know what a "God Given Right" is!
Which is why we are in the dilemma we are in today!

The soap opera continues:
https://m.washingtontimes.com/news/2019 ... chris-cox/
Right now, the NRA is wounded and off the battlefield, and nobody is advocating for the 2A. This is a dangerous moment for us. (OK, GOA. JPFO, etc., but nobody with serious weight.)

Now Chris Cox is part of the Vast Left Wing Conspiracy? The National Rifle Association has reportedly suspended Chris W. Cox, the head of its legislative-lobbying arm, accusing him of being part of a failed coup with ousted former president Oliver North to oust CEO Wayne LaPierre.
