They can't in some states; Washington recently passed a law that any semi-automatic rifle has to be sold to 21+.

In AZ, any 18+ can buy any rifle.

The sad thing is that the 18-21 year period is the one where people are the most vulnerable. They tend to live in large urban areas for college. And they live in areas that aren't very nice.

Not to change the subject but to add to it. If the government says a kid can vote at 18 an is an adult, why shouldn't they be able to buy a handgun? Just a thought.

The "progressives" say that they are too immature to buy/own a gun at 18 or to drink alcohol.

Okay, then if they're only mature enough at 21, then let's move the voting age to 21 also since they obviously aren't mature enough to vote either.

No, FFLs can sell long guns to an 18-20 y/o. Handguns from an FFL must be 21. Private sales are 18+

Only men who own land should be able to vote.

Don't know if you're serious or not, but at least that would guarantee that they had some skin in the game.

The last time we had Bonds and an override on our ballot, I was arguing with renters in the area that when property taxes went up if these measures passed, they'd have increased rents.

.....they flat refused to believe me, one of them right up to the day she and her husband had to move because their rent increased to where they could no longer afford it after the measures passed.

Sounds like the same mentality of people who vote to raise taxes on businesses yet can't understand why the costs of goods/services went up.

Or the ones who can't understand that requireing burger flippers be paid $15hr simply results in LESS jobs for burger flippers...hence the ordering kiosks that are getting installed as quickly as they can.

They even put up ordering Kiosks at the Food Court area at the San Tan Costco in Gilbert. It's cheaper than $15.00/hr.

And what are these kids going to do when there are essentially no more unskilled entry level jobs to be had?

Progressives have such short (or selective) memories. It was only in 1971 that the voting age was lowered from 21 to 18. Since that was the age people (men) were able to be drafted and was also considered the age of full majority. As a result the drinking age was lowered in almost every State to 18 in recognition of adulthood.

Yet now we have such a mishmash of what is considered an adult...
14 is adult enough to get abortion without parents permission but isn't adult enough to buy cigarettes or beer. Yet 14 is adult enough to get married in many States.

18 isn't adult enough to buy a handgun (or semi-auto rifle in some States) but is adult enough to be drafted or volunteer to join the military where they are given full-auto weapons and even MUCH more destructive devices

Can be 20yo with multiple combat tours (possibly decorated for heroism under fire) and not adult enough to buy booze (or cigs in 6 States).

Can be 17yo on active duty with Marines but unable to watch an R rated war movie (this happened here in 29 Palms and the Base CG had to override it)

Not adult enough to drink until 21 but adult enough to vote for the leader of the free world for 3 years already. A person whose finger is on the nuke trigger.

18 you can get married yet can't legally drink at your own wedding reception.

18 can enter into a legally binding mortgage to own a house but can't drink in that house (or smoke in it in some States).

When the first kiosks were going in I tried to explain to the fast food workers who were enthusiastically explaining their use to customers, how the kiosks were going to take their jobs but they were oblivious.

Same thing for self-checkout lanes in stores.

Found your answer for you. With Parent's permission is OK.

It is 2 parts.

Part 1:

13-3109. Sale or gift of firearm to minor; classification
A. Except as provided in subsection C of this section, a person who sells or gives to a minor, without written consent of the minor's parent or legal guardian, a firearm, ammunition or a toy pistol by which dangerous and explosive substances may be discharged is guilty of a class 6 felony.
B. Nothing in this section shall be construed to require reporting sales of firearms, nor shall registration of firearms or firearms sales be required.
C. The temporary transfer of firearms and ammunition by firearms safety instructors, hunter safety instructors, competition coaches or their assistants shall be allowed if the minor's parent or guardian has given consent for the minor to participate in activities such as firearms or hunting safety courses, firearms competition or training. With the consent of the minor's parent or guardian, the temporary transfer of firearms and ammunition by an adult accompanying minors engaged in hunting or formal or informal target shooting activities shall be allowed for those purposes.

Part 2 definitions:

1-215. Definitions
In the statutes and laws of this state, unless the context otherwise requires:
1. "Action" includes any matter or proceeding in a court, civil or criminal.
2. "Adopted rule" means a final rule as defined in section 41-1001.
3. "Adult" means a person who has attained eighteen years of age.
