Only men who own land should be able to vote.
Don't know if you're serious or not, but at least that would guarantee that they had some skin in the game.

The last time we had Bonds and an override on our ballot, I was arguing with renters in the area that when property taxes went up if these measures passed, they'd have increased rents.
.....they flat refused to believe me, one of them right up to the day she and her husband had to move because their rent increased to where they could no longer afford it after the measures passed.
Progressives have such short (or selective) memories. It was only in 1971 that the voting age was lowered from 21 to 18. Since that was the age people (men) were able to be drafted and was also considered the age of full majority. As a result the drinking age was lowered in almost every State to 18 in recognition of adulthood.
When the first kiosks were going in I tried to explain to the fast food workers who were enthusiastically explaining their use to customers, how the kiosks were going to take their jobs but they were oblivious.
