Re: Gaston Glock passed away today
Whether or not you like Glocks or not, the man did revolutionize the handgun market. It will be interesting to see who takes over, and what new guns they will allow to be released that Gaston didn't want to sell. Like when Bill Ruger passed, all the higher capacity firearms suddenly came back.

His young widow might do some interesting spending now. And I suppose all the heirs now begin their law suits.

I liked this info.
"In 2000, he refused to join other weapons manufacturers in signing a voluntary gun control deal with the United States."

She's what -- 44? And a billionaire? I would volunteer to console her in her grief.Suck My Glock wrote: ↑December 27th, 2023, 3:40 pm His young widow might do some interesting spending now. And I suppose all the heirs now begin their law suits.

My first polymer pistol was a H&K. Still glad his guns caught on although I wish he would have made them with fully supported chambers. If he was smart he will have a team that will handle the company and keep the wife from running it into the ground. Thanks to his product many smart Americans created a industry making it better.

He deserves a special Lifetime Achievement Award from emergency room doctors, for all the revenue generated from self-inflicted leg shots. (ducking )

Re: Gaston Glock passed away today
Sad to hear but at least he lived a long life. Glocks are great guns for sure. I once met someone when I was out shooting who had a Generation 1 Glock 17 or 19 and he had fired over 200,000 rounds through it and only replaced a few springs. He actually had a log book with him and he logged the number of rounds he put through his gun. I was pretty amazed, I shot a magazine through it, and it was smooth.

Re: Gaston Glock passed away today
Gaston Glock got the full ride, he died old and rich. If he has any regrets, that's on him. He had the money and time to fix or change anything we wanted. His name will live on because of his invention.
Glock as a company will either get very innovative and try new things to increase profits. Or they will get even more stangnate and just keep producing what they have for years. As many misses that Sig puts out, they still try new things. Hopefully Glock can step it up and offer us new platforms. I think they could take a page out of S&W's play book, steal/license a Kel-Tec design and polish it up. A Glock RBD bullpup could be interesting.
Remington & Colt are both examples of companies that sat on their laurels. They were Giants in the industry that quit being innovative. Colt is still selling Pythons and I don't even look at their 1911s. Remington could make a 870 MCS clone and clean up. Instead they are trying to compete with Turkey on pump shotguns. While I love my Wingmaster & Special Field 870s, I would not touch a new 870 as it isn't the same gun.
