BLM & Shooting

#1

Post by YNOTAZ »

We had our meeting with BLM yesterday. A big thanks to everyone who helped.

While it was positive, we have more work to do. We need to make a proposal for specific areas and how allowing desert shooting in those areas would work. That will be done in the near future.

In any case, here is the presentation we gave yesterday:

BLM blueprint to guide how they manage recreation on BLM lands

#5

Post by aroyobob »

Putting this here just to keep the BLM stuff together.

BLM strategy.
Some additional context for anyone trying to work with the BLM. Nothing really new here, more the umbrella concept that's shaping their resource management plans.

BLM creates blueprint to guide outdoor recreation in response to increased public lands use
https://www.vaildaily.com/news/blm-crea ... lands-use/

The BLM site for this:
Bureau of Land Management's Blueprint for 21st Century Outdoor Recreation. There's a pdf linked to from this page that goes into more detail. The SR74 shooting sites get a mention in the pdf.
https://www.blm.gov/programs/recreation/our-strategy

Through the Blueprint, BLM is establishing a new vision to proactively manage for exceptional and unique recreational experiences that invite all to share in the enjoyment and stewardship of their public lands.
