I bought a RISR because it looks cool.

If it doesn't fit the topic in any of the other forums, and is firearm-related, put it here!

Now that I'm finishing up an "SPR" build I'm realizing the problem it's solving may not be a problem. The RISR is Larue's Reciprocating Inline Stock Riser.

I'm not well versed in optics and am wondering how big of an objective lens would warrant it's use. Then any sort of back up sights become useless with the taller stock? Just so I can charge while the stock is collapsed? Feels like I'm missing something.

Whatever optic you are leaning towards, give them a call, they can probably answer your questions. I would think the height of the mount would definitely come into consideration.

Pics of finished product required :)
