Back strap question

#1

Post by gunpoorboy1 »

I just bought a Taurus G2 9MM.

I find the back strap very aggressive.

What's the best way, or best tool to use, to get to make the back stra
less aggressive and more comfortable.

Thanks

sandpaper but go slowly. Couple swipes with 100 grit should do

A strip of adhesive tape, so you don't have to permanently modify the gun.

I would work with it as it for a bit, whatever your 'routine' is. Draw from concealment practice, dry-fire, live sessions, etc. You may quickly find it more of an advantage, then a disadvantage.

Have you held that pistol in your hand when your palms were sweaty, muddy, or wet? You may find that “very aggressive” back strap is just fine. I once had sharp 20 LPI checkering cut on a Delta Elite frame for that very reason: I NEVER wanted that pistol to slip in my hand no matter what (cuz’ shooting here in the summer outside actually can make your palms sweaty).

Get a Hogue sleeve, problem solved and no mods to the gun.

The rubber version of the talon grip wrap is what I have on one of mine, keeps it grippy but gets rid of the sandpaper feeling, and its both thinner and doesnt move around lie the hogue or tube type grips.
For the price its a good experiment before permanently modifying your pistol.
