Went to the range, It was HOT 🥵

Not sure if you fellows stay indoors this time of year. I went out and to my surprise there were quite a few shooters on the line.

It was HOT! Took double my normal amount of water and still left thirsty. I need a way to shoot from the comfort of my cars AC.

Sure was more difficult w the mirage.

I went to Ben Avery on Thursday.
Don't be no fool. No t-shirts and shorts. Cover up as much skin as you can. Big floppy hat with the neck scarf in back.
Pro tip: soak your shirt in water, and put it on dripping wet. You will actually be chilly as it evaporates. Coolness, and protection against sunburn and skin cancer.

Took my daughter-in-law to Avery last Saturday. We left after 40 minutes (and we had 7am reservations) due to the heat. I am a native, but it was oppressive.

I like to go at peak temperature of the day to avoid more idiots. Sadly many others do the same thing

Silly me, since it was somewhat overcast, and more cool than yesterday...I showed up at 1pm.
GONE before 2pm, lol. Too swampy.

Try shooting steel at Rio Salado at 1pm. It was 102 when I got there. After 6 bottles of water, my truck thermometer read 114 when I left.

Don't you hate it when the steel targets get soft from the heat, and bullets stick in the targets?

I was out twice last week. It was warm to be sure... but any day shooting.. hot, warm or cold, is better than... well, just about anything.. anything standing up that is. :D

Guess I'm the only one hitting an indoor range this summer. Passing by one daily is far too convenient not to hit it once a week at least(screw the weekend at any range!) If its not during the week I wont go to a range. Ill stick to early morning desert shooting for the weekend

Rio would be better if the 200 yard line had go cart access, these old lungs just going back an forth to the 100 and I can feel the glares and stares as I am going fast as I can.
