The 21st round ever fired through this crap rifle and this happened. Although the pawn shop is probably mostly to blame.

I presume that "Random Pawn Shop Ammo" means someone's bagged reloads from a pawn shop? Or is the pawn shop manufacturing and selling their own brand of ammo? There's stuff that I'd buy at a pawn shop - and stuff that I might not. Factory "looking" boxed ammo - maybe - particularly if they'd bought a pallet of sealed ammo-cans etc. and I was sold that it was actually factory ammo. Loose reloads in plastic bags etc. well - not so much.

Hope you were not injured.

They were in a box marked "Sierra Ammunition Company.". I guess I naively thought maybe Sierra Vista really has an ammo company now. I really knew better than to buy BCA but I thought ammo in a box would be ok.

It was a good pawn shop until a few months ago when the owner got hit by a car and lost both his legs. Someone else is running it now (his mother possibly) and she seems to have let all the original employees go and has been stocking ammo from mysterious sources.

I wasn't hurt, didn't even immediately realize what had occurred when this happened.

I returned it to BCA. Not sure if I had a squib or a double charge. Maybe I even had a squib followed by a double charge?

The safety and mag release were destroyed but the basic lower receiver was no worse for the wear. Could have built another shitty rifle off it.
