Only an idiot would let someone take a picture of their ID ?
You must deal with some real winners.

Wow, I've heard of stakeouts with less planning. What happens if your buyer/seller shows up 10 mins early. It's hard for me to even get an overwatch, without an overwatch percentage fee...you know everyone has to have their hands in the pot. I'm with redj on the photo part though. It's not required, but you can look at my ID and CCW, but it seems you might have James Bond camera eyes...... :geek:

Nobody is taking a photo of my ID. I'm not about to give out my home address or DOB to anyone on the street. I'll flash my DL with my thumb over the name and address, the photo of me on an AZDL is enough.

I just ask a Ranger buddy of mine. When I need them to have my back they do. Same goes for me watching their back. I have a few friends like that, they lend me a hand when I need it.They live close to Bass Pro. About the DL pic. So far, everyone I have done business with allow me to take a pic of their DL or their permit to carry. I guess if they wouldn't let me do that I would get a pic of their vin and license plate. But like I said never had a problem.

So, a random freeway off ramp in the middle of nowhere, next a flowing canal, is a no go?

Asking for a friend.

It depends on whether you are buying or selling.

I generally meet wherever. I haven't had a problem anywhere.

Sportsman's, Bass pro, divey ass gas stations in shitty neighborhoods, not a problem yet. Always been from the board though.

Did meet a guy to buy some ammo once from Backpage. He was very insistent that I come alone, and park in a well light area.

When they pulled up I wasn't worried any longer. Two fat neck beards wearing tokarevs in shitty Uncle Mike's holsters.

I just laughed, bought some 8mm Mauser ammo and left.

I just hope you have the courtesy to tell people your requirements beforehand. Because I'm not letting anyone do what you want to do. I would (and once, have) cancel a transaction. I don't mind people having their own paranoid requirements about documenting a sale, but let me know before we agree to meet, so I can tell you "no" up front and not waste either of our time.

No ,I don't. I get there, I inspect the merchandise, I ask to see an ID, then normally they say do you want a receipt? I say no just a pick of your ccw or DL. Never had a problem.

No pics of DL or CCW and no BOS for me. If you want any of that, find another buyer and please post your desires in your ad to save us both a lot of time and annoyance.

There's a lot of paranoia with gun people.

I can not imagine anyone letting someone take a picture of their ID.
With all the fraud going around that has got to be one of the dumbest things someone can do.
