My point is...
In a movie scenario would be one thing... But... Why in this wide wide world would Baldwin be pointing a firearm at anyone if it were not in the script??? Sadly, the UNIVERSAL rules were not followed...
Top [\quote]
Someone posted a note saying the cinematographer and director (and other people,) were lining up camera angles for a shot. If the scene called for the point of view to be of whoever the gun was pointed at then the actor would be pointing the gun at the camera. So the actor would be doing a few draw and point the gun at the camera. He must have cocked and pulled the trigger, thinking it was safe, on the last one.

“There should have been blanks in the gun, the on-set armorer’s job is to check that before handing the weapon over,” Mike Tristan, 60, a Hollywood armorer with three decades of experience, said.
“They then make sure that the actor stands on a mark and never points the gun at the crew or cast… the editing makes it seem like they were pointing at their co-actor,” he said.
‘That’s why everyone in the industry is very confused,” he said. “How this happened is a total mystery at the moment.”
Yes, you should NEVER do what Jack Weaver, Eldon Carl, Thell Reed, Jack Weaver, and JEFF COOPER did in this photo:
How it happened is that Alec pointed the gun at the crew. There may have been other breakdowns with the safety protocols on set, but he knew better.

They had remote activators even back then, not the fancy wireless ones like now though.

I'm seeing all kinds of rumors floating around. Some people are saying that the propmaster brought his guns to set loaded. Some people are saying that Alec intentionally killed her. Lots of crazy theories by a bunch of internet gossips. I'll be interested to hear as more details come out.
Totally, all that crap...
I've also read that a prop gun has been modified so that it can't shoot real bullets- Just blanks.
How are they a different dimension? My AR fires blanks and live rounds.

Bo Duke, John Schneider, was interviewed on one of the morning shows. He made no bones about his avid and continued support for the 2A. (To the obvious chagrin of the media members). However, he also rightfully trashed the egregious safety issues that allowed for this to occur. He also opined that real or 'prop' guns with 'blanks' no longer NEED to be used. Technology with Special FX allows them to insert flash and blast as-needed during the editing process. He filmed a short which appeared to show him blasting from the end of his fingertips, LOL.
