Re: Chronograph
Plus 1, have had one for many years now. Had a problem in the second year, sent it back and received a new upgraded model in less than a week.
Excellent chrony, imo
easy and quick to set up and tear down
shoot without fear of hitting the typical tower type setup.
goes back into original box and takes little space on a shelf
EXCELLENT customer service, when I had a few operating questions, good guy to deal with (been years-but expect things to be the same)
Finally, just the thought of going through the process of setting up, and breaking down a standard Chrony is not an option for me! I primarily got this Chrony to check velocity on my max charge hand loads.
Works for me.

Re: Chronograph
Magneto Speed V3. I considered the Lab Radar but found mix reviews. I am sure its great but wanted upgrade to one that didn't require optic set up. I owned a Caldwall premium and it worked decent, but hated to have to wait between firing cycles at the range set it up or take it down.

Re: Chronograph
I'm using an old PACT chronograph. It has served me well over the past 35 years or so.

Re: Chronograph
Magnetospeed are convenient as heck for rifles, but a good old shoot through the screens setup is good to have if you reload for revo’s, pistols, etc.
CED and PACT have always been good for me, even the cheaper models. Hand gun work I’m usually just into finding AVG and ES.
I don’t chase SD with my boltguns-a guy at a little training facility in Kingsville TX taught me to “believe the bullet”.
When I was shooting PRS bolt gun comps, my 6XC load gave SD’s in the mid thirties but shot half moa at 500 when I had time, and sub moa at 1000 on paper on the clock.

Re: Chronograph
I've got an ancient PACT as well. I don't use it too much these days since I don't shoot precision rifles very much anymore but I might have to get it one of these days out to see if I can nick up the sky screens a little.

CED for edc and a PACT backup
Re: Chronograph
I went with the magnetospeed and am very impressed, easy setup, I didn't have to worry about enough light, and I found an great ES with two different loads.
Re: Chronograph
I have had a Shooting Chrony Beta Master for about 15 years. It has served me well.

Re: Chronograph
PACT, no problems over many years except getting it back when loaning it to a couple of list members !
I have not really looked into newer units but mine has served me well.
