TOPEKA, Kan. — A man shot three people Saturday night who he thought were stealing campaign signs supporting President Donald Trump, police said.

When Topeka police arrived to the scene around 11 p.m., one person was injured and was taken to a hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, the Topeka Capital-Journal reported. Two other victims were later taken to hospitals for treatment by private vehicle, police said.



Two people were taken into custody for questioning. No arrests have been made.

Police have received numerous complaints about stolen signs leading up to Election Day.

Topeka police said seven signs have been stolen in four reported cases, WIBW reported. Three of the signs supported former Vice President Joe Biden; two other signs were for Mary Lou Davis, a Democratic candidate for state House of Representatives. The content of the two other stolen signs was not listed.

The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office has received 20 complaints about 27 stolen signs. It was unclear who the stolen signs were supporting.

If I went past a house that had a sign that said "I hate nigers and spics" I wouldnt want to hang out with the home owner, I wouldn't go there to borrow sugar and we certainly wouldn't be friends but I would only be offended in the same way I am when I go down the street and see people with mattresses and junked up cars sitting in their front yard.

I would go by and think .. Stuff makes his house looks nasty and if I lived in the neighborhood would upset me because it lowers property value but I would just think he is an A$$hole and/or lowlife and someone I wouldn't want to associate with and move on.

Going on to his property to vandalize his stuff wouldn't cross my mind. I like it when a$$holes project. It saves me the time of getting to know they were an A$$hole??

Have a couple of people here in the community with Vote Blue or Biden stuff in their windows. I just dont talk politics with them but I talk to them almost daily and enjoy their company. I wouldnt think of tearing up their signs??

Oh come on, we all know they weren't shot for stealing signs...they got caught taking them, someone told them to stop, and right on cue they came back at him with a punkass attitude, told him to F OFF and started to rush him. They got shot because they attacked someone, not because they 'stole a sign'.

What I don't get, is where do these liberal idiots think that its "OK" to suppress a constitutional right to free speech? Stealing property, trespassing and screwing with people's constitutional rights at the very least should earn you at the very least a ass full of rock salt then a bite from a german shepherd.
