It’s funny when you accumulate a collection fo so long and those “hidden” guns that you just don’t shoot slip from the memory. Out of sight out of mind I guess. It took me a while to remember where I got it too!Winmagbill wrote: ↑April 17th, 2020, 3:57 pm
Yeah that always sounded crazy until I had it happen myself. Last thanksgiving I did my annual “oil the safe queens” at the back of the safe and found a gun that I couldn’t even remember buying. It took an honest 30 minutes before I could piece together the memory of the transaction. A couple of days after the purchase I had some major family issues arise and promptly forgot about it for a year.

You know I want to go into the gun room and clean but I know if I do I just start spending money.

Glad I’m not the only one that does this! I typically hate going to Walmart and usually justify the torture but buying ammoeffjaybay wrote: ↑April 17th, 2020, 1:35 pm I was always finding ammo stashed away in different hiding spots in my closet and garage. If the wife needed something from Walmart, I'd offer to go but stopping first in the sporting goods section of course. I'd buy some boxes and go get the stuff I was there to get in the first place. I'd come home and stash it before walking in to the rest of the house with only the requested items in my hand. Months would pass by and I'll be rummaging in my closet and find 250 rd boxes of 9mm and 200 rd boxes of 223. It's like Easter for me all year long. A couple months ago, I found a box of pmags still in their sealed bags. That's what happens when I'm bored on a weekend, I raid the liquor cabinet, and go online.

Reminds me of a recent conversation I had with my wife:
"How many guitars do you have now?"
"I really don't know, I never counted them. How many shoes do you have now?"
End of conversation.

I've been cleaning the garage and finding new tools I don't remember buying. Just found 3 ZV2008 mags I didn't know I had.

When we were young we wouldn't forget about all this neat stuff. Now it's a surprise every time I do some cleaning. I found 2 boxes of holsters last night. I knew I had some but TWO BOXES!!! LOL! Also more magazines than I realized. No forgotten guns though, I guess that means I better keep digging.
