If you have been following the news regarding the Joe Foss Shooting Complex near Buckeye, you know that the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation department has closed the facility to the public and intends to transfer it to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. After being managed for many years by the Arizona State Rifle and Pistol Association, the range was most recently run by the AzCDL Foundation. Just days before the operating contract was to be renewed, the county informed AzCDLF that its services would no longer be required.

Re: Keep the Joe Foss Shooting Complex Open to the Public
I don’t live down there, but read up after reading your post. Terrible thing for the County to do. Sounds like they (MCSO) need to expand their range, but don’t want the expense so they jacked the publics. I would think a polite public pressure campaign at any public meeting related to this would help. Sometimes when the public makes itself noticed things change.
