Re: Will this happen in AZ?
the story really didn't start at the beginning , why did the owner want the people out, why were the people staying where they were not wanted? that's just the start. I guess the court will find out. The info was kinda one sided.

there is no comprehension to story, not enough details to determine who, what, why , and when, only a journalists thoughts of how he/she believed it worked out, reporting for the last 4 decades has become a joke, anyone that thinks any news is remotely close to the real world is themselves delusional

Agreed horribly written story... But it shows the mob tactics for what they are. Create an altercation and jam up the small business owner. At least that's my take.

Pretty sure you can use physical force to remove trespassers from your property in AZ. So no.

Not according to the current law.
From a lawyer's site:
While Arizona does not have a “castle law,” there are statutes in place which permit an individual to use physical force if an intruder is in their home.
Deadly Force: You are not permitted to use deadly force unless you’re in reasonable fear of immediate serious physical injury or death. If you can get out of the situation safely, you should.

Re: Will this happen in AZ?
Actually AZ does have a stand your ground law-
"Under Arizona self-defense laws, there's generally no duty to retreat before threatening or using physical force if you're in a place where you're legally permitted to be and you're not engaged in an unlawful act. In fact, Arizona has several situations in which the use of physical force is justified. Aside from self-defense, physical force can be used to prevent certain crimes and in defense of a third person, just to name a few. When a justification defense is used, the prosecution has the burden to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant didn't act with justification."
So no, you don't have to retreat if threatened.
