The cops will probably do what they are told to preserve their precious pensions and benefits. Maybe its time to eliminate those great benefits for ALL government workers that the rest of Americans don't get. Virginia gun owners need to take down that corrupt government and do it before they vote their rights away.

People are gullible. 250 thousand dollars? They are planning on locking up what 2 or 3 people for a few months. It cost more than that in overtime for a riot.

Maybe a regulation should be proposed that if you, as a LEO, carry out any frivolous order that is in violation to a citizen's constitutional rights (ie; 4thAm & Due Proc..Red Flag "law"), you will loose any, and all protection from prosecution (you're on your own champ). Future wages and Pensions could be forfeited regardless of judgement.

Take part in a "Red Flag" seizure. The citizen(and/or their family) can take suit against YOU personally for violating their rights. This legal defense CAN NOT be subsidized by the .GOV ,or any outside source. Take away the ability to hide behind the "department". The "hot shot" mentality will probably dwindle... Wanna sign up for SWAT? Feel the need to bust down doors? Deep thought fellas... You've been commanded to do a raid. You know that if the department F'd up, you are hung out to dry. You bust down a guys door, he thinks he's protecting his family (it's not like SWAT has ever hit the wrong house), he blasts 6 cops illegally entering his house before they perforate him. Guess what squeel team stix? Hold on to your ass. You were charged with NOT upholding the law, your actions violated it from the top... Murder 1 for you.

As part, any officer can refuse to carry out such abomination without repercussion...yeah yeah, thin blue line... Early refusers will probably be branded about not being on the team. Until a couple "door busters" get hung out as they should.
