I have some Ruger BH convertibles in 9mm/.357 The 9mm is fun and cheaper to shoot. I like the size of the SAA vs the Ruger so i would look at this as a fun gun.

My initial thought is: "uggggg... no... "

Then I get to: "why would someone do that?"

Then I answer myself with: "because 9mm is a cheaper cartridge to plink and practice with than .38 spl or any of the other typical revolver cartridges and plinking / practicing with a 9mm revolver would be better than practicing with a .22lr revolver (and I own one of those)..."

So I ended up at: "OK - I see it's place - it's not for me - (I only shoot revolvers for "fun" and very rarely as a woods carry gun) - but I can see why someone else might buy one..."

I would be interested to see how they solve the rimless cartridge. If I remember right I read where Charter arms had used some type of coiled spring in the cylinder to keep 9mm rounds from falling into the chamber.

On the single actions i believe a step is machined into cylinder so it headspaces off the case mouth. So no possibility of it falling into cylinder.

Wouldn’t mind .38 since I reload for that Cal. But 9mm seems to be plentiful right now, see how bad the tax man rakes me over the coals, could be on the next purchase list.
