- it was a double barrel shotgun, therefore approved by Shotgun Joe Biden;
- the killer wore a mask, so he didn't infect anybody.

A security team unused to such threats. It simply wasn't on their radar. Heck, even after the guy missed with his first shot, Shinzo doesn't duck or run, and neither does the security team tackle him to get him out of harm's way.




Now to be fair, and to keep things in perspective, Shinzo Abe was the FORMER MP, so he no longer had the same level of protection as the serving head of state. So hopefully the sitting MP has a more Presidential protective detail, and these guys were just the B-Team. But even at that,...yeah, this is gonna have a seismic restructuring effect on the security community there for the foreseeable future, I'm sure.

When you can't get ghost guns this one has a proven track record. Where do the shells come from in such a gun negative culture? They had fewer than 10 shootings so does Yakuza settle up with swords and such? Hollywood has shown them in very heavy Yakuza battles with Hollywoods' finest cinematic weapons .

I'd like to see a lot more info on that sweet improvised shotgun. Using non-gun related, off the shelf parts, It's not difficult to imagine how it was built. Charged capacitors and a switch/trigger to activate a model rocket engine igniters or just to heat up a piece of wire enough to ignite the powder charge, powder charge from disassembled fireworks, steel tubing and cap from a hardware store, ball bearings or small metal objects for the shot, all packed down and sealed with a wax cap. Attach it all to a few pieces of 2x4. All easily purchased OTC in Japan.
