This is the place to post your news and reviews on anything that's firearm related (rifles, magazines, ammo, barrels, holsters, training classes, optics, etc). Please try to make the reviews as thorough as possible and include pictures, or links to pictures if possible, as well as price(s). Some syndicated content will go here as well.
Ever since they got rid of the old Range manager, Billy, and got Richard, Rio has gone down the toilet.
Their shotgun facility was a 4 star facility for many years, but under his management it's now a two star. Range Officers under his management are trained to escalate situations instead of de escalating them as every other range does.
I let my membership lapse 9 months ago and I shoot at other ranges that are properly run. I'll consider coming back if and when the current manager is gone.
I am voting Accidental discharge but Accidental discharge and Negligent ones are kind of like conjoined twins.
In my work life I was sent an email that had like 1000 CC recipients. Lord I hated those.
I replied and evidently one of the people was upset and I had to talk him off the cliff and assuage his poor hurt butt.
Knowing he was a sensitive type I should have been more careful and looked through the LOONNNNGGGG list of recipients and only sent my response to the people I needed to have see it but in a rush I just typed my reply and hit send ....
Omgoodness ... I learned my lesson that day.
Someone at Rio hit send when they shouldn't or picked a "send to" list that was incorrect. Having said that .. the cat is out of the bag and if the email contains information about massive increases .. expect massive increases. They just want to chose how and when they present it.
I don't get those emails any longer...how much was the increase? I let my membership laps last October, but I've been using it ever since...they never notice (or care) that my card clearly shows it expired.

I agree, Dick and the current board are burying the place. RO’s that are wanna’be badasses don’t help the problem either. Ever see the bounty hunter RO? Drives a police auction suv with the markings still on it and thinks it’s cool to flash his bounty hunter badge to Feebs/SWAT guys out there. Quality!
AD’s are rare NONPREVENTABLE occurances.....
ND’s are MANMADE events.... just sayin

Shhhhhhh.... they want it to be a secret
When the dementia kicks back in there will probably be a “retraction” to the first “retraction”.... how funny would that be!
READY.... FIRE....AIM
And dang, if I knew they didn’t even look I wouldn’t have re-upped LOL

That's not an insane increase...25%. I bet they are having to make up for the huge loss of revenue from the main range for non-members. No ammo = no shooters.
I'm still waiting for them to re-schedule the garage sale that was supposed to be in March...2020.
I live equidistant from Rio or Phoenix Rod & Gun. At this point, I'd be more inclined to join PRGC, instead of renewing my Rio membership. But, as long as Rio keeps letting me use my expired membership, I'll keep going there in the mean time.
Family member went from 110 to 140, 30 bucks more. We will go weekly and often twice. Not doing the math any deeper, pretty cheap bump per visit for 2 shooters.
