However there is lots of walking for spectators. I your children are under 5, either be prepared with a stroller (with Large Over SIzed off road wheels) or you will be carrying them. Also bring light (weight) lawn chairs to sit. You need to remember that its still in the desert (Big Sandy Rocks are not friendly to anybody), they do sell water+soft drinks+food. The 4h club that supplies all this may or may not take credit cards. If I used them I would always paid in cash. Also Sun protection is defenitly needed.

it's been a few years since I've been there. Definitely worth going to. Here's a lot of nice eye candy to see and a nice light show at night. It's loud so hearing protection is a must.

Storage_man, aka Rodger, as known by some was a fixture at the shoots, here is info on his present position.

in my feeble attempts to locate and determine where abouts of Rodger aka: Storage_man, a member here was able to locate his son and shared this info
Rodger had a medical condition that suddenly came up in december of 2020, was hospitalized and passed a few weeks later.
I met rodger many moons ago, about 2007 when i had an issue with a new diesel truck, he assisted me in reviewing issues and getting to results with his scanner, we at that time became friends shooting on quite a few occassions, and it didn't hurt that he was only a few blocks away.
he will be missed, and was a fixture at the Big sandy events.

I brought the family up for the night shoot Saturday evening. It was fun and they were impressed.

Very family friendly. Was there 2yrs. ago w/ son and grand son(10 at the time) had a great time. Grandson got pull the firing cord on cannon, also fired a german MP40, 1919 and was given all kinds of shell casings.
