Congressional hearings on ATF overreach and misconduct

This is the place to post your news and reviews on anything that's firearm related (rifles, magazines, ammo, barrels, holsters, training classes, optics, etc). Please try to make the reviews as thorough as possible and include pictures, or links to pictures if possible, as well as price(s). Some syndicated content will go here as well.

Here are excerpts from hearings by the United States House Judiciary Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government and the United States House Judiciary Committee looking at ATF crimes and overreach.

The part that really sucks about that hearing, is that no main stream media outlet will report on it. This should be headline news on Fox, if they really cared about 2A rights. A major federal law enforcement enforcement agency is killing Americans over the lowest grade of Federal crime. Sadly, if the guy was black, they would be all over this.

Trump needs to win so he can appoint Vivek Ramaswamy to be his AG, then he can gut the ATF.

What I'd actually like to see is a person in charge of the ATF who actually knows something about firearms. Dettelbach is a complete moron, who doesn't know the difference between a 5320.20 and a 4473. He has no idea how the gun industry works, what a gun show is like, how to build an AR-15, etc. It's like asking the ground crew guy who loads the luggage at Sky Harbor to fly the plane.

Part of me is sympathetic to what you are saying,...but another part of me disagrees. I mean, do we REALLY want people at ATF to not be morons? That would make them potentially more effective and lethal in their criminality. That doesn't seem very desirable. I think I rather prefer the current stupidity to more competent phuckery.

I'm going to make a prediction. And if I'm wrong, I'll find this thread and say, "I was wrong".

Here's my prediction, Trump wins and Viv is the AG and.........nothing changes. Things might get worse.

I hope I'm wrong

I fully understand that point of view. But, think how nice it would be to have someone who had the knowledge and wisdom to know that there is no gun show loophole, and there never was. Something that has been admitted by the ATF, now. Someone who knows and understands what "one pull of the trigger" means? Instead we have adults who are supposed to be smart (hopefully, yet rarely), argue for hours about it, yet not one of them has ever tried one.

Is the ATF being used to crush the political opponents of the party that controls the executive branch? Absolutely. This is the outworking of a society that increasingly does not respect truth, that accepts corruption, and a population that sees the government as the great provider and protector. How can this change? It won't change until we, as a society, stop accepting it...

While I don't think we at bottom have that much influence, good to see those that do are picking up fight.

SC overturns 2018 ban on bump stocks. And Senate quashes bill to reinstate.
