Thinking about attaching a smoke signal device to the FAK, as a marker for helicopter in case
- there is an accident at the range, or
- I or somebody else gets hurt out in the boondocks - hiking, hunting, camping, etc.
I see "Orion" brand on Amazon.
Any other/better products?

Re: smoke signal device
Don't know anything about that brand but check out the smoke signal devices sold for boating and open seas. Use to be you could find milsurp smoke grenades but I haven't seen them in quite a while and the price was getting pretty high, also I read the purple was carcinogenic in the state of California.

Re: smoke signal device
Orion is the most common brand of smoke and signal devices for boating.
Probably would be good for your use.
They also come with expiration dates, so expired stuff is a lot cheaper.

You could always go with the wire pull in various colors.
