Massad Ayoob Deadly Force Instructors' Course

#1

Post by Sam Spade »

Mas Ayoob and Marty Hayes will be presenting a Deadly Force Instructors' Course in Scottsdale, March 4-March 8, 2024.

Registration is through the host, the Arizona Church Security Network:

The first two days of the course will be the 20-hour Armed Citizen's Rules of Engagement. This is available for those not wishing to attend the entire week, and if registering for the instructor's class there is no need to register for the 20-hour:

Taught personally by Massad Ayoob, this one week 40+ hour course of instruction is offered by the Massad Ayoob Group in conjunction with Marty Hayes of The Armed Citizen’s Legal Defense Network to teach and certify self-defense firearms instructors in the complicated and nuanced discipline of teaching the legalities of use of deadly force in self-defense. Teaching how to shoot is the easy part. Much tougher is teaching people when and when not to use force, including deadly force, in self-defense. In addition to learning what to teach and how to present it, students will also learn how to take their expertise to court, to both serve as a material witness for their students, and perhaps an expert witness in other self-defense court cases.

Pre-requisites: Instructor credentials or membership in the Armed Citizens’ Legal Defense Network, Inc.

Due to the nature of our instruction, it is necessary to provide us with one or more of the following with your registration:

a. Current State Issued Permit to carry a concealed handgun

b. Current FFL - Federal Firearms License

c. Current FOID Card (Illinois Residents only)

d. Current Police or Military ID

e. Other current proof of clean criminal record. Most sheriff’s departments will run these for you at a nominal fee, done routinely in many occupations.

What Do I bring?

Note taking materials. Laptop recommended, (you may also want to bring an extension cord/power strip) Audio / video recording of the class is not allowed.

If legal to do so, student may be armed in the classroom, but there will be no handling of firearms in the lecture setting.

This class is lecture only, there will not be any live fire.

Please bring your own lunches, snacks, beverages etc. We have a “working lunch” in all classes. Many of our facilities do not have a place close enough to purchase meals and get back in a reasonable amount of time. Also remember that many of our classes are 10 hour days so if you need another meal in that amount of time please bring it. Bring water, while we do provide water at all of our locations, it never hurts to bring some more. We teach in many locations and cannot guarantee the comfort of the chairs, if that might be an issue for you feel free to bring a cushion to sit on.

All Classes meet at 8:30 AM on the First Day
