Interesting video. Kind of related but the gun I shoot best with the least amount of work has a ramp front sight and a gutter. Sure it's a sighting system but it's minimal

I've never found sights to make much of a difference.
But then, I shoot with my eyes closed, so...

Besides the top of the gun as a sighting-plane, there's also the rear profile of the gun.
Jim Cirillo called it Silhouette Point, IIRC. In daylight use, it's probably tough not to pick up on either of those. Subcounsciously 'cheating' by having 'something' to align and sight with.

Yes, he used his technique quite well.
At one time there was a pic online showing how he used his entire revolver to “aim” at his intended target, basically superimposing the outline of it over the silhouette. Unfortunately I can’t find it.

What you see below is the closest I can find, but with a semi-auto.
