Getting down into prone and up again, 8 times, would kill me, even without shooting.

Nope, they need an old guy qual for when they get enough common sense to let us old broke down grunts take rounds for the younguns so they can mop up.

Stage 1
From the standing/bent over arthritis position, 5rds center mass

Stage 2
From the hobbling/cracking knee walk
5rds center pass

Stage 3
From the fed up this hurts position
Mag dump

That said while not combat style that 200 300 500yd qual was so rewarding putting on that marine corps expert badge

I'm glad that the qual is evolving to better represent the real-world scenarios that they will encounter. The old qual that I went through was "fine" - but I can't say that it was aligned with the realities of a firefight in the way that this new standard is at least attempting to do.

Bingo. Big improvement. Apparently somebody actually has the mission in mind.
I hope no woke general decides it's not diverse or inclusive enough, or sensitive to carbon footprint.
