So 4 days ago the Supreme Court agrees to hear the Garland v. VanDerStok case. And like the snap of your fingers, the California Attorney General trips over himself to try to get a win out of this thing before the Supreme Court splatters poo all over them. Obviously the AG is hoping against hope that this settlement will render hearing the case as moot and give the SCOTUS an excuse to abandon going forward with rendering on the matter. Why else would the settlement not only let 80% Arms escape without demanding they never sell another product in the state, and lets them continue to do business, but completely gives up trying to get the customer database, which had put so many citizens in jeopardy?
